You need something to show the client: a public status page on your own domain, white-labelled, included from the Professional plan. You also monitor things that are not WordPress (an API, a VPS, a port, a PrestaShop or Magento store), you want a Playwright test walking the checkout rather than a 200 on the homepage, and you want the SMS to arrive through a Polish provider with the invoice in PLN.
Your day is backups, plugin updates and vulnerabilities. WP Umbrella takes daily, weekly and monthly encrypted backups with 50 day retention on EU servers, runs bulk safe updates with rollback, scans for vulnerabilities every 6 hours with a one click fix, and collects PHP errors, warnings and notices from every site. PingView does none of that, and will not: we watch sites, we do not maintain them.

The status page is included from the Free plan and gets a custom domain plus white label from Professional. WP Umbrella does not sell one, and runs its own status page on a third party service. For an agency whose product is "you can see for yourself that we are watching", that is the difference between having the artefact and not having it.

At 1.99 EUR per site per month, five sites is roughly 10 EUR. Our cheapest paid plan is 99 PLN. A freelancer with five WordPress sites has no reason to pay more.

If you maintain WordPress sites under a care plan, WP Umbrella covers work PingView will never do. If you sell the client visibility, monitor stores on more than one platform, or need the checkout tested rather than pinged, that is our half. The overlap is the uptime check itself, and paying twice for it is a rounding error next to either subscription.
