Datadog charges per test execution, and every location multiplies the count. On its own public annual-commitment pricing, a mid-size agency checking 50 stores every minute from 3 locations works out to about 6.48 million API test runs a month, roughly 3,240 USD (about 12,085 PLN) a month. This is our own calculation from Datadog's list price under those stated assumptions, not a quote from their sales team or calculator, and a negotiated contract could land differently. Comparable coverage, 100 monitors, up to 10 locations each, 1 minute interval, sits inside PingView's Professional plan for a flat 299 PLN a month.
The WordPress plugin, published on wordpress.org, plus the PrestaShop and Magento 2 modules create an account and a monitor from an email address, then show current status and recent incidents inside the shop admin. We found no comparable plugin for Datadog; it reaches e-commerce platforms only through general-purpose APM tracers aimed at developers, not a panel a shop owner would use.
Prices in PLN and USD, a Polish legal entity for RODO and DPA, and a Polish SMS provider for alerts to Polish numbers. Datadog's public pricing is USD only, and it is a global US entity; whether it offers a Polish-language interface or Polish invoicing was not confirmed in its documentation.
PingView ships a status page with components, groups and email subscribers starting on the free plan, with a custom domain and white labelling from Professional. Datadog's equivalent, Status Pages, lives inside the separate Incident Management module, and neither the required plan tier nor its price is disclosed anywhere in public documentation.

Datadog runs 25+ managed public locations across AMER, APAC and EMEA, plus the option of private locations inside your own infrastructure. PingView has five fixed probes, all in Europe and the United States, with zero coverage in Asia, Oceania, South America or Africa. If your customers are in Singapore or Sao Paulo, we cannot tell you what your site looks like from there.
Datadog integrates natively with PagerDuty and Opsgenie and ships its own On-Call module, with escalation policies and alert acknowledgement. PingView has no on-call feature and no path to one, direct or indirect.
RUM, APM, logs and Synthetic Monitoring all sit in the same system at Datadog, so an outage shows up simultaneously in traces, logs and real user sessions. PingView has RUM too, but it is a much smaller, separate module, 10 pages and 500,000 events a day on Professional, with no connection to a full APM product.
Datadog connects to dozens of CI/CD and ops tools, ships a Terraform provider, and has a mature REST API used across GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI and Azure DevOps pipelines. PingView has one generic webhook and roughly 16 endpoints in its v1 API, with no native Jira, GitHub Deployments or Vercel integration.
Datadog's API test type covers DNS, WebSocket, gRPC and UDP natively, plus a separate Mobile App Testing product. PingView has four working monitor types; DNS record monitoring is a plan flag with no implementation behind it, and UDP is an unused value in the monitor type list.
Datadog is a public company (NASDAQ: DDOG) that IPO'd in 2019 and is a standard tool inside many large IT departments. PingView is a much smaller, younger Polish product without that track record, which is a real factor for an enterprise buyer weighing vendor risk.

It works, but Synthetic Monitoring is one module of a platform with over a dozen modules, priced and built for teams already invested in full observability. Buying it for uptime alone is closer to buying a combine harvester to mow a lawn.

Only if you use Datadog exclusively for uptime and synthetic checks and do not rely on the rest of the platform, APM, logs or full RUM. If your whole observability stack already lives there, the cost of leaving that correlation behind can outweigh the difference in what the Synthetics module alone costs.
